Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LSA)
Removal Procedure
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor).
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement Service and Repair.
4. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield (if equipped). Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) Service and RepairFront Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) Service and Repair.
5. Remove the engine coolant fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LFW or LFX) Service and RepairEngine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LSA) Service and Repair.
6. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the thermostat housing. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LFX or LFW) Radiator Outlet Hose ReplacementRadiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LSA) Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement.
7. Remove the heater inlet/outlet hoses from the water pump. Heater Inlet Hose/Pipe and Heater Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement (LSA) Heater Inlet Hose/Pipe and Heater Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement.
8. Remove the compressor hose bolt at the compressor.
9. Remove the compressor hose from the compressor.
10. Unclip the condenser and evaporator tube from the compressor hose bracket.
11. Remove the compressor hose bracket bolt from the engine.
12. Remove the compressor hose bracket nut (1) from the wheelhouse panel stud.
13. Remove the compressor hose from the evaporator core. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement.
14. Remove the compressor hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the compressor hose to the evaporator core. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement.
2. Install the compressor hose bracket nut (1) from the wheelhouse panel stud and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
3. Install the compressor hose bracket bolt to the engine and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
4. Install the compressor hose to the compressor.
5. Install the compressor hose bolt to the compressor and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).
6. Clip the condenser and evaporator tube to the compressor hose bracket.
7. Install the heater inlet/outlet hoses to the water pump. Heater Inlet Hose/Pipe and Heater Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement (LSA) Heater Inlet Hose/Pipe and Heater Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement.
8. Install the radiator outlet hose to the thermostat housing. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LFX or LFW) Radiator Outlet Hose ReplacementRadiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LSA) Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement.
9. Install the engine coolant fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LFW or LFX) Service and RepairEngine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LSA) Service and Repair.
10. Install the front compartment lower noise shield (if equipped). Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive) Service and RepairFront Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive) Service and Repair.
11. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement Service and Repair.
12. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
13. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Belt Driven Compressor).
