DT-49293 - Gear Select/Skip Shift Solenoid Remover/Installer

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (LSA-Coupe) Exhaust System Replacement (Coupe)Exhaust System Replacement (LSA-Sedan/Wagon) Exhaust System Replacement (Sedan/Wagon)Exhaust System Replacement (Single Exhaust) Exhaust System Replacement (Single Exhaust)Exhaust System Replacement (LFX/LFW-Coupe) Exhaust System Replacement (Coupe)Exhaust System Replacement (LFX/LFW-Sedan/Wagon) Exhaust System Replacement (Sedan/Wagon).

3. Remove the propeller shaft Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LSA) Service and RepairRear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LLT or LF1 with MX7 or MN6) Service and RepairRear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LLT or LF1 with MXO) Service and Repair.

4. Support the transmission with a suitable jack.

5. Remove the transmission support retaining fasteners from the vehicle body. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement (Manual CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic RWD except CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Manual except CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic AWD) Service and Repair.

6. Slightly lower the transmission to gain access to the solenoid. Refer to Transmission Rear Mount Replacement Service and Repair.




7. Disconnect the solenoid electrical connector (1).

8. Using the DT-49293 - gear select/skip shift solenoid remover/installer or equivalent, loosen the retaining bolt, then remove the bolt and the solenoid.

Installation Procedure




1. If removed, inspect the solenoid O-ring. Replace the O-ring if necessary.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the solenoid, then tighten the solenoid to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).

3. Connect the solenoid electrical connector (1).

4. Install the transmission support to body retaining bolts. Refer to Transmission Support Replacement (Manual CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic RWD except CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Manual except CTS-V) Service and RepairTransmission Support Replacement (Automatic AWD) Service and Repair.

5. Remove the transmission jack.

6. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LSA) Service and RepairRear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LLT or LF1 with MX7 or MN6) Service and RepairRear Propeller Shaft Replacement (RPO LLT or LF1 with MXO) Service and Repair.

7. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (LSA-Coupe) Exhaust System Replacement (Coupe)Exhaust System Replacement (LSA-Sedan/Wagon) Exhaust System Replacement (Sedan/Wagon)Exhaust System Replacement (Single Exhaust) Exhaust System Replacement (Single Exhaust)Exhaust System Replacement (LFX/LFW-Coupe) Exhaust System Replacement (Coupe)Exhaust System Replacement (LFX/LFW-Sedan/Wagon) Exhaust System Replacement (Sedan/Wagon).

8. Lower the vehicle.
