Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module Replacement (AWD)

Special Tools

CH-45722 - Fuel Sender Lock Ring Wrench

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools Tools and Equipment.

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (FWD) Fuel Tank ReplacementFuel Tank Replacement (AWD) Fuel Tank Replacement.

2. Remove the fuel sender assembly from the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (AWD) Service and Repair.




3. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe (2) from the fuel pump module (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

4. Disconnect the fuel tank module harness connectors.




5. Use the CH-45722 - fuel sender lock ring wrench (1), to remove the fuel sender lock ring (2) from the fuel pump module.




6. Carefully lift the fuel pump module (1) while guiding the fuel tank crossover pipe (2) from the fuel tank (3).

7. Remove and DISCARD the fuel pump module O-ring.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW the fuel pump O-ring.

2. Carefully lower the fuel pump module (1) while guiding the fuel tank crossover pipe (2) into the fuel tank (3).




3. Use the CH-45722 - fuel sender lock ring wrench (1), to install the fuel sender lock ring (2).

4. Connect the fuel tank module harness connectors.




5. Connect the fuel feed pipe (2) to the fuel pump module. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

6. Install the fuel sender assembly to the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (AWD) Service and Repair.

7. Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (FWD) Fuel Tank ReplacementFuel Tank Replacement (AWD) Fuel Tank Replacement.
