Rear Suspension Support Replacement
Removal Procedure
1.Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2.Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
3.Remove the differential carrier assembly, if equipped. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement .
4.Remove the rear stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .
5.Remove the air springs. Refer to Rear Air Spring Replacement .
6.Remove the parking brake cables from the rear suspension support. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Replacement .
7.Remove the left rear underbody air deflector. Refer to Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Left Side Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Left Side .
8.Remove the right rear underbody air deflector. Refer to Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Right Side Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Right Side .
9.Support the lower control arm (1) with a suitable jack stand (2).
Note:When performing the following procedure, it is not necessary to separate the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly from rear suspension the knuckle. Remove as an assembly.
10.Remove the rear suspension knuckles. Refer to Knuckle Replacement .
11.Remove the rear suspension support front reinforcement bolts (1).
Note:Ensure that the rear suspension support is securely attached to the hydraulic jack stand.
12.Support the rear suspension support with a suitable hydraulic jack (1).
Caution:This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
Note:Discard the old rear suspension support bolts. Replace with NEW only.
13.Remove rear suspension support bolt (2) and the rear suspension support front reinforcement (3).
Caution:This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
Note:Discard the old rear suspension support bolts. Replace with NEW only.
14.Remove the remaining rear suspension support bolts (2).
15.Using the hydraulic jack (3), lower the rear suspension support
16.With the aide of an assistant, remove the rear suspension support and place on a suitable work bench.

Remove the rear suspension upper control arm nut and washer (3).
18.Remove the rear suspension upper control arm bolt (1).
19.Remove the rear suspension upper control (2).
20.Remove the rear suspension adjust link nut and washer (3).
21.Remove the rear suspension adjust link bolt (1).
22.Remove the rear suspension adjust link (2).
23.With the aide of an assistant, turn the rear suspension support over.
24.Remove the rear suspension lower control arm front nut (2).
25.Remove the rear suspension lower control arm front bolt (1).
26.Remove the rear suspension lower control arm rear nut (4).
27.Remove the rear suspension lower control arm rear bolt (5).
28.Remove the rear suspension lower control arm (3).
Installation Procedure
1.Position the lower control arm (3) in the rear suspension support.
2.Install the lower control arm bolts (5) and (1).
3.Install the and hand tighten lower control arm nuts (4) and (2).
4.With the aide of an assistant, turn the rear suspension support over.
5.Position the rear suspension upper control arm (2) in the rear suspension support.
6.Install the rear suspension upper control arm bolt (1).
7.Install and hand tighten the rear suspension upper control arm nut and washer (3).
8.Position the rear suspension adjust link (2) in the rear suspension support.
9.Install the rear suspension adjust link bolt (1).
10.Install and hand tighten the rear suspension adjust link nut and washer (3).
11.With the aide of assistant, secure the rear suspension support (1) on a suitable hydraulic jack (3).
12.Raise the rear suspension support into place.
Caution:Refer to Fastener Caution .
13.Install the NEW the rear suspension support bolts (2) and tighten to:
-90 N �m (66 lb ft)
-plus 180 degrees
-plus 15 degrees
14.Install the rear suspension support front reinforcement (3) and the rear suspension support bolts (2).
15.Tighten the NEW rear suspension support bolts (2) to:
-90 N �m (60 lb ft)
-plus 180 degrees
-plus 15 degrees
16.Install and tighten NEW the rear suspension support front reinforcement bolts (1) to:
-150 N �m (111 lb ft)
-plus 30 degrees
-plus 15 degrees
17.Install the rear stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement .
18.Install the differential carrier assembly, if equipped. Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement .
19.Install the air springs. Refer to Rear Air Spring Replacement .
20.Install the rear suspension knuckles. Refer to Knuckle Replacement .
21.Install the park brake cables. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Replacement .
22.Tighten the nuts on the adjust link. Refer to Adjust Link Replacement .
23.Tighten the nuts on the upper control arm. Refer to Upper Control Arm Replacement .
24.Tighten the bolts on the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
25.Install the left rear underbody air deflector. Refer to Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Left Side Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Left Side .
26.Install the right rear underbody air deflector. Refer to Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Right Side Underbody Rear Air Deflector Replacement - Right Side .
27.Align the rear suspension. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications .
