* BO-24402-A - Glass Sealant Remover (Cold Knife)
* BO-39032 - Stationary Glass Removal Tool
* Use an adhesive that is approved by GM Specification GMW 15672
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools Tools and Equipment
Removal Procedure
Warning
If a window is cracked but still intact, crisscross the window with masking tape in order to reduce the risk of damage or personal injury.
Note: Before cutting out a stationary window, apply a double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and inner trim.
1. Remove the left and right inside body side rear window garnish molding. Refer to Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement.
2. Disconnect the rear window defogger electrical connectors.
3. Disconnect the OnStar(R) antenna, if equipped.
4. Disconnect the rear window radio antenna connector.
5. Open the rear compartment lid.
6. Remove the rear window lower seal.
Warning
If broken glass falls into the defroster outlets, it can be blown into the passenger compartment and cause personal injury.
7. Cover to protect the following parts from broken glass, seats and carpeting.

Note: Keep the cutting edge of the tool against the window. Use care Not to damage the window corner locators pins. If the window locators pins get cut off when removing the window it will be necessary to tape the window in place when installing.
8. Do this from inside the vehicle, use a suitable tool cut around the window separating the window from the urethane adhesive.
* Leave a base of urethane on the pinchweld flange.
* The only suitable lubrication is clear water, no oils, lubricates or soaps.

9. With an assistant lift the rear window from the opening.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the rear window into the opening. Refer to Adhesive Installation of Rear Windows Adhesive Installation of Rear Windows.
2. Install the rear window lower seal.
3. Connect the rear window defogger electrical connectors.
4. Install the rear window radio antenna connector.
5. Connect the OnStar(R) antenna, if equipped.
Check the radio and OnStar(R) system to verify reception.
6. Install the left and right inside body side rear window garnish molding. Refer to Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement Body Side Rear Window Garnish Molding Replacement.
7. Close the rear compartment lid.
8. Remove the double layer of masking tape around the perimeter of the painted surfaces and the interior trim.
