If a customer should comment of a "tip in" hesitation with their 1982 5.0L CFI engine, a new ECM calibration PROM, P/N 1225588, and EGR valve, P/N 17079818, have been made available to correct this condition. Prior to replacing the PROM and EGR valve, the following checks are to be performed.

1. Disconnect the EGR valve vacuum line at the EGR valve and plug vacuum line.

2. Drive the vehicle and evaluate tip in hesitation.

3. If tip in hesitation persists, refer to shop manual for problem diagnosis.

4. If tip in hesitation is eliminated, replace the calibration PROM and EGR valve with part numbers indicated above.
