Antenna: Service and Repair
POWER ANTENNA
Tool Required:
^ J 28641 Antenna Bezel Socket
Remove or Disconnect
1. Antenna lead-in connector (16) from radio lead-in connector (22).
2. Antenna wiring connector (21) from body wiring harness connector(15).
^ Mask front edge of right door with tape.
3. Door jamb-to-antenna attaching screw (7).
^ Raise and suitably support vehicle.
4. Rear wheelhouse panel screws and bolts.
^ Pull out lower edge of wheelhouse panel and block with wood to gain access to antenna assembly (9).
5. Power antenna mast nut (2), using J 28641, and bezel (3):
6. Antenna assembly (9).
Install or Connect
1. Antenna assembly (9).
^ Position antenna assembly (9) in fender (8).
^ Bezel (3) and power antenna mast nut (2), loosely.
2. Antenna bracket (10) to fender (8) and secure with door jamb-to antenna attaching screw (7).
Tighten
- Attaching screw (7) to 6 Nm (53 lb. in.).
- Power antenna mast nut (2) to 5 Nm (44 lb. in.) using J 28641.
^ Unblock wheelhouse panel.
3. Rear wheelhouse panel screws and bolts.
Tighten
- Screws to 10 Nm (89 lb. in.).
- Bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb. ft.).
^ Lower vehicle.
^ Remove masking tape from front edge of right door.
4. Antenna wiring connector (21) to body wiring harness connector (15).
5. Antenna lead-in connector (16) to radio lead-in connector (22).
