Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor:

CAUTION: Care must be taken when handling engine coolant (ECT) temperature sensor. Damage to engine coolant sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.

REMOVE OR DISASSEMBLE
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Drain coolant.
3. Air inlet duct.
4. ECT electrical connector.
5. Carefully back out sensor.


INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Coat threads (only) with sealer PN 1052080.
2. Install sensor in engine.

Tighten
Sensor to 23 Nm (17 lb. ft.).

3. Connect electrical connector.
4. Air inlet duct.
5. Refill lost coolant.
6. Connect negative battery cable.
