Ignition Control Module Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the four terminal PCM connector.

3. Remove the Ignition Coil Module (ICM) screws.

4. Remove the ignition coil module.

Installation Procedure

Notice: A package of silicone grease is included with a new ICM. This grease is necessary for ignition coil and ICM cooling.

1. Apply silicone grease to the ignition coil module mating surfaces.

2. Install the ignition coil module screws. Tighten the ignition coil module screws to 1.7 Nm (14 lb in).

3. Install the new ignition coil module.

4. Connect the four terminal PCM connector.

5. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the negative battery cable to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
