NOTICE: Always disconnect the negative battery cable when charging a battery or electronic components may be damaged.

When it is necessary to charge the battery follow these basic rules:
1. Do not charge battery if hydrometer is clear or light yellow. Replace battery.
2. If the battery feels hot (52°C (125°F) or higher), or if electrolyte violently gasses or spews through the vent holes, discontinue charging or reduce charging rate.
3. Do not charge a battery if it seems to be frozen.
