REMOVAL PROCEDUREBattery Cable (Positive): Installation Procedure:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. Remove the battery heat shield push-in retainers.
3. Remove the battery heat shield from the vehicle.
Battery Cable (Positive): Removal Procedure:
4. Remove the upper clips from the battery cables.
5. Disconnect the negative battery cable ground lead from the RH frame rail.
6. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General information.
Battery Cable (Positive): Removal Procedure:
7. Remove the lower clip from the battery cables.
Battery Cable (Negative): Removal Procedure:
8. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the engine block.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Remove the negative battery cable from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Battery Cable (Negative): Removal Procedure:
1. Install the negative battery cable the vehicle.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Connect the negative battery cable to the engine block.
Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
Battery Cable (Positive): Removal Procedure:
4. Install the lower clip to the battery cables.
5. Lower the vehicle.
Battery Cable (Negative): Installation Procedure:
6 Connect the negative battery cable ground lead to the RH frame rail.
Battery Cable (Negative): Installation Procedure:
7. Install the upper clips to the battery cables.
8. Install the battery heat shield.
Battery Cable (Negative): Installation Procedure:
9. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 m (11 lb ft).
