Seat Back Frame Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the seat back cover and pad.




2. Remove the lumbar system inflator assembly from the seat back (Sport Seat).
3. Unhook the seat back free play retention cable spring from the rear of the seat back (right seat only).
4. Remove the cable from the seat back.




5. Position the seat back forward to remove tension from the actuator springs.
6. Push down on the seat cushion to expose the hinge bolts nuts.
7. Remove the hinge bolts nuts.
8. Remove the release cables from the hinge bolts.
9. Remove the actuators from the hinge bolts.
10. Remove the hinge bolts and the seat back from the seat cushion frame.




11. Remove the release cable mechanism by depressing the tabs and pushing the release lever out of the seat back frame.
12. Pull the release lever cables out through the seat back frame.

Installation Procedure




1. Insert the seat back cables through the seat back.




2. Position the seat back frame to the seat cushion frame.
3. Install the hinge bolts attaching the seat back, the actuators and the release cables, to the seat cushion frame.
4. Apply locking compound to the hinge bolt threads.
5. Install the hinge bolt nuts.

Tighten the hinge bolt nuts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).




6. Install the lumbar inflator assembly to the seat back (sport seat).
7. Install the seat back free play retention cable to the rear of the seat back (passenger seat only).
8. Install the seat back cover and pad.
