Fillpipe Restrictor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the fuel tank to 1/2 tank or less, if necessary. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedure.
2. Remove the fuel filler cap (1).
3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
4. Release the 2 catches on the fuel filler pipe shield (2) and remove the shield from the fuel filler pipe (6).
5. Disconnect the fuel filler hose (4) from the fuel filler pipe (6).
6. Disconnect the fuel tank breather hose (5) and the ORVR vapor hose (5) from the fuel filler pipe (6).
7. Pull the rubber grommet (7) away from the fuel filler pipe neck in the opening to the fuel filler door compartment.
8. Remove the 2 bolts from the fuel filler pipe bracket (3).
9. Remove the bolt and the fuel filler pipe bracket from the vehicle.
10. Remove the fuel filler pipe from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the fuel filler pipe to the vehicle.
2. Position the rubber grommet (7) around the fuel filler pipe neck in the opening to the fuel filler door compartment.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service and Precautions.

3. Install the fuel filler pipe bracket (3) to the vehicle with the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

4. Secure the fuel filler pipe to the fuel filler pipe bracket (3) with the 2 bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

5. Connect the fuel tank breather hose (5) and ORVR vapor hose (5) to the fuel filler pipe (6).
6. Connect the fuel filler hose (4) to the fuel filler pipe (6).
7. Install the fuel filler pipe shield (2) to the fuel filler pipe (6).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Fill the fuel tank.
10. Install the fuel filler cap (1).
11. Check for any fuel leaks.
