Governor Replacement (Automatic Transaxle-3T40)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.





2. Remove the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) assembly.
3. Remove the governor.
4. Remove the governor compression ring.





5. Remove the governor shaft seal.
6. Remove the governor shaft bushing and the screen.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the governor shaft bushing and the screen.
2. Install the governor shaft seal.





3. Install the governor compression ring.
4. Install the governor.
5. Install the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) assembly.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Adjust the transmission oil level.
