Oil Level Sensor: Service and Repair

ENGINE OIL LEVEL SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Disconnect and plug the transmission oil cooler lines at the rear of the engine block on the right hand side of the engine, if equipped.
3. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the retaining clip at the rear of the engine block on the right side of the engine, if equipped.
4. Disconnect the engine oil level sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove the engine oil level sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the engine oil level sensor.

Tighten
Tighten the engine oil level sensor to 13 N.m (115 lb in).

2. Connector the engine oil level sensor electrical connector.
3. Unplug and connect and the transmission oil cooler lines at the rear of the engine block on the right hand side of the engine, if equipped. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications in Automatic Transmission.
4. Connect the transmission oil cooler lines to the retaining clip at the rear of the engine block on the right side of the engine, if equipped. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications in Automatic Transmission
5. Lower the vehicle.
