Radiator Replacement- Tools Required
- J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Remove the right and the left engine mount struts.
4. Remove the fan shroud.
5. Remove the upper radiator brackets and bolts.
6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
7. Remove the lower air deflector.
8. Use the J 38185 to remove the radiator outlet hose clamp from the radiator.
9. Remove the radiator outlet hose from the radiator.
10. Remove the transaxle oil cooler lines from the radiator.
11. Lower the vehicle.
12. Remove the low coolant module.
13. Remove the radiator.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the radiator to the lower mounts.
2. Install the low coolant module.
3. Raise the vehicle.
4. Install the transaxle oil cooler lines to the radiator.
5. Install the radiator outlet hose to the radiator.
6. Use the J 138185 to install the radiator outlet hose clamp to the radiator.
7. Install the lower air deflector.
8. Lower the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
9. Install the radiator brackets and bolts.
- Tighten the radiator bracket bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
10. Install the fan shroud.
11. Install the right and the left engine mount struts.
12. Fill the cooling system.
13. Connect the negative battery cable.
14. Inspect for leaks.
