Keyless Entry Receiver: Service and Repair

REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the I/P drivers knee bolster reinforcement.
3. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
^ The plastic retainer (1)
^ The left I/P outer air outlet duct (2)




4. Remove the screw (2) which secures Junction Block #2 (1) and position aside in order to gain the necessary clearance to remove the left I/P outer air outlet.




5. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
^ The screw
^ The left I/P outer air outlet (1)




6. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver electrical connector.
7. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
^ The remote control door lock retaining nut
^ The remote control door lock receiver (1) with the mounting bracket attached
8. Depress the retaining tab and remove the mounting bracket from the receiver, if necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the remote control door lock receiver to the mounting bracket, if removed.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the door lock receiver (1) to the vehicle. Secure the receiver with the retaining nut.

Tighten
Tighten the remote control door lock receiver retaining nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Connect the remote control door lock receiver electrical connector.




4. Install the left I/P outer air outlet (1) to the vehicle. Secure the outlet with the screw.




5. Install the left I/P outer air outlet duct (2) to the vehicle. Secure the outlet duct with the plastic retainer (1).




6. Reposition Junction Block #2 (1) back into position. Secure the junction block with the screw (2).
7. Install the I/P drivers knee bolster reinforcement.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
9. Reprogram the remote control door lock receiver. Programming and Relearning
