Power Steering Pressure Switch ReplacementRemoval Procedure
POwer Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch Signal:
1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch (1).
2. Remove the PSP switch (1) from the steering gear inlet pipe fitting on the high pressure side of the pump (2).
Installation Procedure
Notice: Replacement components must be the correct part number for the application. Components requiring the use of the thread locking compound, lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, or sealants are identified in the service procedure. Some replacement components may come with these coatings already applied. Do not use these coatings on components unless specified. These coatings can affect the final torque, which may affect the operation of the component. Use the correct torque specification when installing components in order to avoid damage.
POwer Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch Signal:
1. Install the PSP switch (1) to the steering gear inlet pipe fitting on the high pressure side of the power steering pump (2).
^ Tighten the PSP switch to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Connect the PSP switch electrical connector.
