Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

SECONDARY AIR INJECTION (AIR) PUMP REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.

CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Remove the left hand side lower close-out panel.




3. Remove the hoses from the AIR pump.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the AIR pump.
5. Remove the AIR pump mounting bolts from the bracket.
6. Remove the AIR pump.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the AIR pump.
2. Install the mounting bolts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the AIR Pump bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

3. Connect the electric connector to AIR pump.




4. Connect the hoses to the AIR pump.
5. Install the left hand side close-out panel.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Verify the AIR system for proper operation.
