Dry Squawk/Rubbing Noise from Front Suspension when Driving Over Bumps or Rough Surfaces (Replace Front Control Arm Rear Bushings)

This bulletin is being revised to update the Parts Information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 07-03-08-001 (Section 03 - Suspension).
Condition
Some customers may comment on a dry squawk or rubbing noise coming from the front suspension when driving over bumps or rough surfaces.
Cause
This condition may be caused by rubber-to-rubber contact inside the front control arm rear bushings.
Correction
Replace the front control arm rear bushings. If the condition persists or if the front control arms are damaged replace the front control arms.
Tools Required
CH-48358 Front Control Arm Rear Bushing Replacer
Verify the customer concern.
Inspect the front suspension.
If either or both front control arms are damaged replace the damaged control arms. Refer to Control Arm Replacement in SI. If the front control arms are not damaged do NOT replace the front control arms. Proceed to Step 3.
If the source of the noise condition has been identified as the front control arm rear bushings replace both control arm rear bushings. Refer to Control Arm Bushing Replacement in SI.
Verify that the customer concern is resolved. If the noise persists after only the bushings have been replaced replace both front control arms as well. Refer to Control Arm Replacement in SI.
