Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Right Side

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the engine sight cover.
2. Remove the crankcase ventilation hoses/pipes.
3. Remove the ignition coil assembly.
4. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts (516).
5. Remove the valve rocker arm cover (505).




6. Remove the gasket (1) from the rocker cover. Discard the OLD gasket.





Important: If the oil cap is removed from the cover, install a NEW cap during assembly.

7. Remove the oil cap (424) and seal (450) from the cover, only if replacement is required.
8. Discard the oil cap.

Installation Procedure

Important:

* All gasket surfaces should be free of oil and other foreign material during assembly.

* DO NOT reuse the valve rocker arm cover gasket.

* The valve rocker arm cover bolt grommets may be reused.




1. Install a NEW gasket (1) into the valve rocker cover lip.





Important: If the oil cap is removed from the cover, install a NEW cap during assembly.

2. Install a NEW oil cap (424) and seal (450) to the valve rocker arm cover, as required.




3. Install the valve rocker arm cover (505) onto the cylinder head.
4. Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts (516).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

5. Tighten the rocker arm cover bolts.

Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

6. Install the oil fill tube into the rocker arm cover.
7. Install the ignition coil assembly.
8. Install the crankcase ventilation hoses/pipes.
9. Install the engine sight cover.
