Ignition Coil Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.




2. Remove the engine sight shield, left side shown.




3. Disconnect the ignition coil harness connector.
4. Disconnect the spark plug wire at the ignition coil.
5. Remove the ignition coil mounting bolts.
6. Remove the ignition coil.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the ignition coil.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the ignition coil mounting bolts.

Tighten the ignition coil mounting bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

3. Connect the spark plug wire at the ignition coil.
4. Connect the ignition coil harness connector.

Tighten the harness bolt to 12 N.m (106 lb in).




5. Install the engine sight shield, left side shown.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
7. Program the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming (Domestic and Japan) Transmitter Programming (Export - Including Canada). Programming and Relearning
