Body - Front Door Road/Wind Noise

Bulletin No.: 07-08-64-021

Date: December 10, 2007

TECHNICAL

Subject:
Front Door Road/Wind Noise (Replace Door Glass)

Models:
2007 Chevrolet Impala

Condition

Some customers may comment on a road or wind noise coming from the front door glass.

Cause

The front door glass may be out of specifications, creating a gap between the inner belt seal and the glass.

Correction

There should be no gap between the lip seal of the inner belt molding and the glass.

To correct this, first check the glass. Sight along the glass where it meets the outer belt molding. If a localized bulge in the glass coincides with the gap inside, the glass is suspect.

To confirm, check the manufacturing date code on the glass. This code is located at the rear of the glass along the belt line (refer to illustration above).

Any glass with a date code of May '07 or later does not need to be replaced. If the glass is not replaced, the inner belt molding is then the suspect and should be replaced.
