20. Valve Lifter Removal

Valve Lifter Removal




1. Remove the active fuel management (AFM) lifter guide and lifters from the engine block as an assembly.





Important: Once removed, place the AFM valve lifters in an organized order so the valve lifters can be installed into the original locations.

2. Remove the AFM lifters from the lifter guide by sliding the lifter to the appropriate side and lifting it out of the guide.





Important: Once removed, place the non AFM valve lifters in an organized order so the valve lifters can be installed into the original locations.

3. Remove the non AFM valve lifter guide bolts.
4. Remove the non AFM valve lifter guides.
5. Remove the non AFM valve lifters.
