Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (Extended Sedan)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the rear tire and wheel assemblies.
3. Remove the muffler assembly.
4. Disconnect the fuel pump module electrical connector from the underbody wiring harness.
5. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) vent valve solenoid harness electrical connector from the underbody wiring harness.
6. Suitably support the gas tank.
7. Remove the front fuel tank strap bolts.
8. Lower the fuel tank as necessary for access.
9. Place a index mark on the rear camber adjusting bolts.
10. Suitably support the rear control arms.
11. Remove the right and left toe links.




12. Remove the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts.
13. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulators from the stabilizer shaft.




14. Remove the stabilizer link to knuckle bolts.
15. Remove the stabilizer shaft.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the stabilizer shaft.




2. Install the stabilizer shaft insulators.
3. Install the stabilizer shaft brackets.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the stabilizer shaft bracket bolts.

Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator bracket retaining bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).




5. Install the stabilizer shaft links to knuckle bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 55 N.m (41 lb ft).

6. Install the right and left toe links. Line up index marks on the camber bolts.
7. Remove the supports from the rear control arms.
8. Raise the fuel tank into position.
9. Install the front fuel tank strap bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

10. Remove support from the fuel tank.
11. Connect the EVAP vent valve solenoid harness electrical connector to the underbody wiring harness.
12. Connect the fuel pump module electrical connector to the underbody wiring harness.
13. Install the muffler assembly.
14. Install the rear tire and wheel assemblies.
15. Lower the vehicle.
