Scan Tool Parameter
The scan tool parameter video signal, in the DVD data display list can be useful in diagnosing this fault. The video signal parameter displays present or not present based on whether the DVD player senses a signal on the video signal circuit. The scan tool parameter may be helpful when diagnosing a poor video display when using an auxiliary device.
Video Display is Blank
Important: The following information lists the most probable cause of the concern to the least probable cause. If the list leads to the replacement of a component, always inspect for a poor connection before proceeding with replacement.
* VSM +8v circuit open or high resistance between the DVD player and the video display-Test the VSM +8v circuit for an open or high resistance.
* Ground circuit open or high resistance between the DVD player and the video display-Test the ground circuit for an open or high resistance.
* Video signal circuit open or high resistance between the DVD player and the video display-Test the video signal circuit for an open or high resistance.
* Bright control circuit short to ground between the DVD player and the video display-Test the bright control circuit for a shot to ground.
* Replace the video display.
Video Display is White
* Ground circuit shorted to B+ between the DVD player and the video display-Test the ground circuit for a short to B+.
* Replace the video display.
