Front Floor Panel Carpet Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement (Seat Replacement) .




2. Remove the door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Service and Repair) .




3. Remove the accelerator pedal stop bracket.




4. Remove the driver foot rest.




5. Pull the carpet back and disconnect the air duct from the passenger side only.
6. Pull the intermediate carpet from under lock pillar trim and reposition up out of the way.
7. Pull the carpet from under the instrument panel and accessory trim plate.
8. Pull the seat electrical connector down through the carpet, if equipped.
9. Remove the carpet.
10. Remove the carpet air outlet, if necessary, by turning the air outlet counterclockwise.



Installation Procedure






Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

1. Position the carpet over the floor.
2. Install the carpet air outlet into the carpet to the passenger side only.

1. Rotate the air outlet 45 degrees counterclockwise and insert the outlet into the front of the carpet.
2. Rotate the air outlet 45 degrees clockwise to lock in position.

3. Connect the air duct to the carpet air outlet on the passenger side only.
4. Tuck the carpet under the accelerator pedal.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

5. Install the accelerator pedal stop.

Tighten the stop nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





6. Install the driver side foot rest.

Tighten the foot rest nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).





7. Tuck the carpet under the instrument panel and accessory trim plate.
8. Pull the seat electrical connector through the slit in the carpet.




9. Install the side sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Service and Repair) .
10. Reposition the intermediate carpet over the floor carpet.




11. Install the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement (Seat Replacement) .
