Seat Belt Retractor Weak Return on Driver and/or Passenger Side (Confirm Belt Is Installed In Straight Line From Upper Access of B-Pillar To Retractor)

Condition
Some customers may comment that the driver or passenger side seat belt retractor has weak retraction.
Cause
This condition may be due to interference with the wiring harness or plastic standoffs in the B-pillar.
Correction
Technicians are to reinstall the retractor in a straight line from the upper access to the B-pillar and clip the wiring harness back in position.
Important:
DO NOT replace the seat belt kit (retractor).
1. Remove the B-pillar.
2. Inspect for proper attachment of the wiring clips in body the flange.
3. Clip the wiring harness to the body flange as shown above.
4. Confirm the seat belt is installed in a straight line from the upper access of the B-pillar to the retractor.
