Some customers may comment that the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Key FOB is inoperative.

Cause

GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause for the concern with the Remote Keyless Entry system. GM Engineering has a need to obtain information first hand during the diagnosis and repair. As a result, this information will be used by Engineering to "root cause" the customer's concern and develop/validate a field fix.

Instructions

Important:
DO NOT RELEARN TRANSMITTERS.

If a vehicle is encountered with the above condition, and SI diagnostics isolate the RKE receiver or transmitter as the cause, contact one of the GM engineers before performing any additional steps. The engineer may want the receiver and transmitter. The parts will be requested back using the WPC return process. Do not ship the parts until a request form has been received from the WPC.
