DTC Descriptor
DTC P0575
- Cruise Control Switch Signal Circuit
Diagnostic Fault Information
Circuit/System Description
The cruise control switch is an input to the instrument panel cluster (IPC). The IPC monitors the cruise control set/coast and resume/accelerate switch signal circuit in order to detect when a cruise control function has been requested. The IPC detects a specific voltage signal on the cruise control set/coast and resume/accelerate switch signal circuit when a cruise control function switch is activated, with each switch having a different predetermined voltage value. Once a cruise control function has been requested, the IPC sends a command via serial data to the engine control module (ECM).
Conditions for Running the DTC
The ignition is ON.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The ECM detects an invalid voltage signal on the cruise control switch signal circuit.
Actions Taken When the DTC Sets
The cruise control system is disabled.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
The condition responsible for setting the DTC no longer exists.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Ignition ON, observe the Cruise On/Off switch parameter. The reading should be Off and change to On when the switch is pressed.
2. Observe the Cruise Set/Coast Switch parameter. The reading should be Inactive and change to Active when the switch is pressed.
3. Observe the Cruise Resume/Accel. Switch parameter. The reading should be Inactive and change to Active when the switch is pressed.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the cruise control switch connector.
2. Ignition ON, Verify the cruise control switch parameters are Off or Inactive.
• If not the specified values test the switch signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal replace the IPC.
3. If all circuits test normal replace the cruise control switch.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
* Cruise Control Switch Replacement (Service and Repair)
* Control Module References (Programming and Relearning) for IPC replacement, setup, and programming
