Rear Disc Brake Hardware Replacement (J57)
Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning (Brake Dust Warning).
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
Note: The disc brake rotor protectors must be installed prior to tire and wheel assembly removal to avoid potential damage to the disc brake rotor if contact occurs with the tire and wheel assembly during removal.
2. Install the disc brake rotor protectors and remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the upper disc brake pad guide pin (1).
4. Remove the disc brake pad retaining spring (1).
5. Remove the lower disc brake pad guide pin (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the lower disc brake pad guide pin (1).
2. Install the disc brake pad retaining spring (1).
3. Install the upper disc brake pad guide pin (1).
4. Install the tire and wheel assembly and remove the disc brake rotor protectors. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
