Intermediate Steering Shaft Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Turn the ignition OFF and remove the key in order to lock the steering column.
2. Dislocate the intermediate steering shaft seal from the steering column.
3. Disconnect the intermediate steering shaft from the steering column. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement).
4. Push the intermediate steering shaft down and collapse it.




5. Remove the intermediate steering shaft seal bolts.
6. Remove the intermediate steering shaft seal from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the intermediate steering shaft seal to the vehicle.
2. Connect the intermediate steering shaft to the steering column. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement).





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the intermediate steering shaft seal bolts and tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb in).
4. Position the intermediate steering shaft seal to the steering column.
