Battery Replacement

Battery Replacement (without LAT) (2.4L Non Hybrid and 3.6L)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the battery box cover (1).




2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4, LY7, and LE5) (Service and Repair)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) (Service and Repair).
3. Disconnect the positive battery cable (2).




4. Remove the battery tie down bolt (1).
5. Remove the battery hold down retainer (2).
6. Remove the battery from the battery tray (3).

Installation Procedure




1. Position the battery in the battery tray (3).
2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the battery hold down retainer bolt (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




4. Install the positive battery cable (2) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
5. Install the negative battery cable and tighten the bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




6. Install the battery box cover (1).
