Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement (Except North America)

Removal Procedure




Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Battery Disconnect Warning).

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the liquid pipe connector block to condenser retaining bolt.




4. Remove the refrigerant discharge hose connector block bolt at the condenser.
5. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement (1.2L DOHC) (Service and Repair)Radiator Replacement (1.4L/1.5L/1.6L) (Service and Repair).
6. Cap all the openings to prevent contamination.




7. Remove the condenser mount bolts.
8. Remove the condenser from the radiator.

Installation Procedure




1. Install new O-rings onto the receiver-dryer tube fittings.
2. Ensure that the condenser rubber mounts are in place.
3. Install the condenser to the radiator. The lower mount shock protectors must fit into the holes provided.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

4. Install the condenser mount bolts.

Tighten the upper condenser bolts to 8 Nm (70 lb in).

5. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement (1.2L DOHC) (Service and Repair)Radiator Replacement (1.4L/1.5L/1.6L) (Service and Repair).




6. Install the refrigerant discharge hose connector block bolt at the condenser.

Tighten the refrigerant discharge hose connector block bolt to 16 Nm (12 lb ft).




7. Install the liquid pipe connector block to condenser retaining bolt.

Tighten the liquid pipe connector block to condenser retaining bolt to 14 Nm (10 lb ft).

8. Connect the negative battery cable.
9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Service and Repair).
