Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).
2. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement ().
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.





Note: Prior to removal, take note of the A/C compressor hose assembly routing and orientation between the compressor and condenser.

Cap or tape off the open A/C components immediately to prevent system contamination.

5. Remove compressor hose nut (1).
6. Remove A/C compressor hose (2) from thermal expansion valve tube.




7. Remove compressor hose bolt (1).
8. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (2) from the engine.
9. Remove A/C compressor hose (3) from compressor and engine.




10. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (1).
11. Remove A/C compressor hose (2) from condenser.
12. Remove A/C compressor hose from vehicle and discard sealing washers.

Installation Procedure

1. Install new sealing washers to A/C compressor hose. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal Replacement (Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal Replacement)




2. Install A/C compressor hose (2) to condenser.
3. Install A/C compressor hose nut (1) and tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).




4. Install A/C compressor hose (3) to compressor and engine.
5. Install A/C compressor hose nut (2) to engine and tighten to 9 Nm (7 lb ft).
6. Install compressor hose bolt (1) and tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).




7. Install A/C compressor hose (2) to thermal expansion valve tube.
8. Install compressor hose nut (1) and tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb ft).
9. Connect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
10. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (Service and Repair).
11. Install engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement ().
12. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging).
