Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the rear suspension support. Refer to Rear Suspension Support Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Disconnect the vent solenoid electrical connector (1).
3. Disconnect the evaporative emission hoses (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




4. Remove the evaporative emission canister fasteners (1) and the evaporative emission canister (2).




5. Remove the evaporative vent solenoid valve (1) from the carbon canister.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the evaporative vent solenoid valve (1) to the carbon canister.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the evaporative emission canister (2) and tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 Nm (80 lb in).




3. Connect the evaporative emission hoses (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
4. Connect the vent solenoid electrical connector (1).
5. Install the rear suspension support. Refer to Rear Suspension Support Replacement (Service and Repair).
