Condition
Some customers may comment on noticing that the brake master cylinder reservoir cap has a slight leak or is weeping brake fluid.
Cause
This condition may be caused by insufficient sealing of the reservoir cap.
Correction
Replace the master cylinder reservoir cap following the steps below:
1. Remove and discard the original reservoir cap.
Note
If in question on brake fluid or level, refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling, in SI.
2. Check the brake fluid level. If the brake fluid level is above the half-full point, adding brake fluid is not recommended under normal conditions.
3. Wipe clean the outside surface of the master cylinder and/or reservoir.
4. Install a new reservoir cap, GM P/N 20819283.
