Condition

Some customers may comment on the left or right manual outside rear view mirror being difficult to adjust or will not move through the full range of adjustment.

Cause

This condition may be due to the rear view mirror being improperly positioned in the mirror tower, causing the toggle to be restricted by the upper door trim cover.

Correction

Technicians are to check for proper engagement of the mirror body to the adjustment tower using the procedure below.

1. Remove the upper door trim cover.
2. Loosen the mirror and properly engage the tower legs into the adjustment tower. Verify that the tower legs are seated by physically pulling the tower up/down and/or side to side. The tower leg will "click" if not seated correctly.
3. If the tower is still not seated, remove all three fasteners and the mirror, then reinstall the mirror.
