Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the driver knee bolster panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Tilt and telescope the steering column to the lowest and the most rearward position.




3. Remove the steering column lower trim cover bolts (2) from the steering column lower trim cover (1).




4. Disengage the steering column upper trim cover (1) from the steering column lower trim cover.
5. Remove the steering column upper trim cover from the steering column.
6. Maneuver the steering column lower trim cover around the tilt lever in order to remove the cover from the steering column.

Installation Procedure

1. Maneuver the steering column lower trim cover around the tilt lever and position the cover on the steering column.




2. Position the steering column upper trim cover (1) on the steering column.
3. Engage the steering column upper trim cover to the steering column lower trim cover.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the steering column lower trim cover bolts (2) to the steering column lower trim cover (1) and tighten to 1.5 Nm (13 lb in).
5. Install the driver knee bolster panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
