Stabilizer Shaft Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. Disconnect the stabilizer links from the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. For vehicles equipped with the 3.6L LY7, remove the exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Pipe Replacement (Exhaust Pipe Replacement).
5. Using a suitable jack stand, support the rear of the frame assembly.
6. Remove the frame to body bolts. Refer to Frame Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Lower the rear of the frame in order to gain clearance to the stabilizer shaft.




8. Remove the stabilizer shaft clamp bolts.
9. Remove the stabilizer shaft clamps and insulators.
10. Remove the stabilizer shaft from the frame.

Installation Procedure

Note: Install the insulators so that the slit in the insulator is facing the rear of the vehicle.

1. Install the insulators on the stabilizer shaft.




2. Position the stabilizer shaft to the frame.
3. Install the stabilizer bar clamps.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

4. Install the stabilizer shaft clamp bolts and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
5. Raise the rear of the cradle and install the cradle bolts. Refer to Frame Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Remove the jack stand.
7. Connect the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. For vehicles equipped with the 3.6L LY7, install the exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Pipe Replacement (Exhaust Pipe Replacement).
9. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
10. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
