Timing Chain and Sprocket Removal





Caution: Use only a Torx Plus(R) Bit when removing or installing the camshaft position actuator fasteners (1). The Torx Plus(R) design differs from typical Torx(R) fastener. Use of a standard Torx(R) bit on Torx Plus(R) fasteners may result in a rounded out fastener head or incorrect faster torque.

1. Install the camshaft position actuator fastener (1).




2. Remove the camshaft sprocket bolts.
3. Remove the timing chain and sprockets.




4. Remove the timing chain tensioner bolts.
5. Remove the timing chain tensioner.
