DTC Descriptor

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

DTC P0711 Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor Circuit Performance

Conditions for Setting the DTC

* Transmission fluid temperature is less than 20°C (68°F).
* Vehicle speed is 40 km/h (25 MPH) or greater.
* Conditions above continues for 10 min or more.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

* The TCM will request the illumination of Hold/Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) and store the DTC when the TCM detects failures on two consecutive ignition cycles.
* No timing solenoid control N - D

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The TCM turns off the Hold/Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) when no further failures are detected on the next 3 consecutive ignition cycles.
* The scan tool can clear the DTC from the TCM history.
* The TCM clears the DTC from the TCM history memory after 40 consecutive ignition cycles without fault.
* The TCM detects the temperature of the transmission fluid is between 0-150°C (32-302°F) for 10 s continuously.

* The wiring harness or the connector between the TFT sensor and the TCM
* The TFT sensor
