Power Brake Booster Vacuum Check Valve and Hose Replacement (LLT)

Removal Procedure




1. Apply the brake pedal several times until the pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum reserve in the brake booster.
2. Remove the rear intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear (Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear).
3. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the check valve (1) from the vacuum brake booster.




5. Release the clamp and remove the power brake booster vacuum hose (1) from the vacuum port on the LH side of the intake manifold.




6. Release the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) from the power brake booster vacuum pump.
Remove the power brake booster vacuum hose and check valve assembly from the vehicle.
7. Remove the check valve from the vacuum brake booster hose, if necessary.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the check valve to the vacuum brake booster hose, if removed.
2. Install the power brake booster vacuum hose and check valve assembly to the vehicle.
3. Connect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) to the power brake booster vacuum pump.




4. Install the power brake booster vacuum hose (1) to the vacuum port on the LH side of the intake manifold.
Position the clamp and secure the hose to the vacuum port.




5. Install the check valve (1) and hose assembly to the vacuum brake booster.
If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.
6. Connect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.
7. Install the rear intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear (Intake Manifold Cover Replacement - Rear).
