Power Brake Booster Vacuum Check Valve and Hose Replacement (L99, LS3)

Removal Procedure




1. Apply the brake pedal several times until the pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum reserve in the brake booster.
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the check valve (1) from the vacuum brake booster.




4. Release the clamp and remove the power brake booster vacuum hose (1) from the vacuum port on the LH side of the intake manifold.
Remove the power brake booster vacuum check valve and hose assembly from the vehicle.
5. Release the clamp and remove the check valve, if necessary.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the check valve to the vacuum brake booster hose, if removed.
If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol may be used as a lubricant for assembly. Do not use soap.
2. Position the clamp and secure the vacuum hose to the check valve.




3. Install the power brake booster vacuum hose (1) to the vacuum port on the LH side of the intake manifold.
Position the clamp and secure the vacuum hose to the vacuum port.
4. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
