Heater Inlet and Outlet Hose Replacement (LS3, L99)

J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LS3, L99 Static Fill) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (LLT Static Fill) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)).
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair)
3. Disengage tension on the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps (1) at the heater core using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
4. Remove the heater inlet and outlet hose (2) from the heater core.
5. Disengage tension on the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps (1) at the engine using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
6. Remove the heater inlet and outlet hose (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install heater inlet and outlet hose to the vehicle.
2. Engage tension on the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps (2) at the engine using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
Note: Lubricate the inside diameters of the hose with clean coolant prior to installation.
3. Install the heater inlet and outlet hose (2) to the heater core.
4. Engage tension on the heater inlet and outlet hose clamps (1) at the heater core using J 38185 - Hose Clamp Pliers.
5. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair)
6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LS3, L99 Static Fill) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (LLT Static Fill) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill))Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) (Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)).
