Transmission Fluid Level Inspection
Removal Procedure
Note: The fluid plug at the front of transmission may not be opened.
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Place basin underneath the vehicle.
3. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid drain plug area.
Note: DISCARD the fluid drain plug.
4. Remove the transmission fluid drain plug (1).
5. Let the transmission fluid run out for 10 minutes.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
1. Install NEW transmission fluid drain plug and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
2. Lower the vehicle.
3. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (Battery Tray Replacement).
4. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid plug area.
Note: DISCARD the fluid fill plug.
5. Remove the transmission fluid fill plug (1).
6. Add transmission fluid. For transmission fluid capacity and specifications refer to Manual Transmission Specifications (Manual Transmission Specifications).
7. Install NEW transmission fluid fill plug and tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
8. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (Battery Tray Replacement).
