DTC Descriptor
DTC B1006
- Security Code Not Programmed

Circuit/System Description

When learning the security code, as well as the challenge and response sequence, the telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module is placed in learn mode. Once the security code and challenge/response are learned, learn mode will be exited when the engine is successfully started.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The ignition must be ON and telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module is in normal operating mode or maintenance mode. The module verifies If the security code is programmed.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

This DTC will set, if the telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module security code is not programmed.

Circuit/System Verification

Note: Because of normal system communications between the body control module BCM and ECM, any immobilizer B-codes must be diagnosed prior to the diagnosis of P-codes. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle).

Program the security code into the K105 telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module. Refer to Communication Center Call Transceiver Programming and Setup (Communication Center Call Transceiver Programming and Setup). Verify DTC B1006 does not set after programming the security code.

If the DTC sets, replace the K105 telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
