- VIN Not Programmed

Circuit/System Description

Upon start-up the telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module verifies that the vehicle identification number (VIN) is stored in the memory.

Conditions for Running the DTC

* The ignition must be ON and control module is awake.
* The DTC runs continuously when the above condition is met.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module detects that the vehicle VIN is not stored in memory.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

Vehicle starting will be disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The current DTC will clear when the fault is no longer present.

Circuit/System Verification

Program the vehicle VIN into the telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module. Refer to Communication Center Call Transceiver Programming and Setup (Communication Center Call Transceiver Programming and Setup). Verify DTC B1007 does not set after programming the vehicle VIN.

If the DTC sets, replace the K105 telematic vehicle localization and immobilization control module.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
