Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement - Fuel Feed Pipe (Without Tee Fitting)
Removal Procedure
1. Ignition OFF.
Warning:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning Service Precautions.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
Warning:
Refer to Safety Glasses Warning Safety Glasses Warning.
Warning:
Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning Service Precautions.
Warning:
Refer to Relieving Fuel Pressure Warning Service Precautions.
3. Relieve the low side fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Service and Repair.
Danger:
To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
5. Detach the fuel feed pipe pressure sensor assembly from the fuel tank.
6. Disconnect the fuel feed line (1) from the fuel feed pipe pressure sensor assembly (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.
7. Disconnect the electrical harness connector (3) from the fuel feed pipe pressure sensor assembly (2).
8. Remove the fuel feed pipe pressure sensor assembly (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Connect the electrical harness connector (3) to the NEW fuel feed pipe pressure sensor assembly (2).
2. Connect the fuel feed line (1) to the NEW fuel feed pipe pressure sensor assembly (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service Procedures.
3. Install the NEW fuel feed pipe pressure sensor assembly (2) to the fuel tank.
4. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
5. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
6. Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
2. Turn OFF the ignition, for 10 seconds.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
4. Inspect for leaks.
