Limited Slip Differential Cleaning and Inspection (218mm Axle)

1. Clean all parts with an approved solvent.

2. Visually inspect all the parts for excessive wear or breakage. Replace the parts if necessary.

3. Inspect the differential pinion gears (2) and the side gears (5) for any of the following conditions:

* Wear

* Cracks

* Scoring

* Spalling

4. Inspect the pinion gear shaft (1).

5. Inspect the pinon gear thrust washers (1).

6. Inspect the pinion shaft lock pin (4).

7. Inspect the differential clutch disc packs (7).

8. Inspect the differential clutch disc thrust washers (8).

9. Inspect the differential thrust washers for wear (6).

10. Inspect the differential case (9) for cracks and scoring.

11. Replace the differential assembly if there is damage to the differential carrier case.
